duon po sa Kamay ni Hesus

When Charitie had to renew her passport in Lucena I decided to come with her. It was the only DFA branch nearest Manila that had available slots in April by the time she scheduled for an appointment.

She searched on how to get there and we discovered that itโ€™s more or less 3 hours of travel time from Manila. Back and forth it would take us approximately 6 hours, for less than an hour appointment with the DFA for her passport renewal! Well that time she only had two choices: DFA Lucena or DFA Puerto (or Palawan?).

It would be our first time in Lucena so I thought of searching for things to do or places to visit in Lucena to make the most of the day that we’d be there. We both got excited when I found about the Kamay ni Hesus grotto. I have always wanted to go there ever since it was featured in a morning show.

Kamay ni Hesus

The Kamay ni Hesus grotto is in Lucban, Quezon. It’s a 40 to 45-minute travel from Pacific Mall in Lucena. Just locate the FX terminal, take the FX bound for Lucban and just ask the driver to drop you off Kamay ni Hesus. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Kamay ni Hesus is one of the popular destinations during the Holy Week, aside from Caleruega. It is known for its giant statues of Saints, and giant Stations of The Cross.

The Last Supper

At the end of the grotto is a gigantic Jesus.

It took us how many takes to get an acceptable (by our own standard๐Ÿ˜) shot with the giant Jesus. I can’t find our picture together where we had to mount my phone on a post just to have a group pic with Jesus and pray that my phone won’t fall. And oh, that’s me in the picture, lower left corner. ๐Ÿ˜…

Here’s what giant Jesus “views” from the top of the grotto. ๐Ÿ˜‰

In the right picture is Charitie taking a rest. ๐Ÿ˜… By the way, if you think your body isn’t up for this stairway-to-grotto, there is a mini stairway-to-grotto just by the entrance of KnH. You may want to start from there. ๐Ÿ˜‰

At the foot of the grotto is the Kamay ni Hesus Healing Church. Below is how it looks inside.

You may find the Grotto Mass Schedule on their website: KamayNiHesus

The grotto is not the only attraction in Kamay ni Hesus. You may also see their version of the Garden of Eden.

Oh hello there, Adam and Eve.

If there’s Garden of Eden, then there may very well be a Noah’s Ark!

You may even see sculptures of the pairs of animals Noah had in the Ark in the ground outside the facility. This, by the way, isn’t a museum. This is a meditation room so we can’t just barge inside and explore. It has 21 air-conditioned rooms (each with its own toilet) for pilgrims. It also has a function hall perfect for group retreats and other events. Details are on their website.

That’s Kamay ni Hesus!

But wait, there’s more. Flowers!๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒผ

My trips aren’t complete without flower pics! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Now, going back to Manila is pretty much the reverse. Hehe! Take an FX or a jeepney going to Pacific Mall/Lucena, get off the highway, then wait for buses going to Cubao or Buendia or Pasay. We were told that there are FXs that pass by KnH which are bound straight to Buendia but are only available until 5PM.

This must be very tiring. Where to eat after? Click here.
