Last year I got the chance to travel alone by plane for the first time ever. It wasn’t overseas, but hey, for me it was already an achievement! I took a plane trip to Iloilo to attend my friend Donna’s wedding in another town.
Since it was my first time to travel alone, I decided it’d be just an overnight stay. I got there on the 29th of November, wedding was on the 30th, and after the wedding reception I went straight to the Iloilo International Airport for my flight home. That quick!
When a friend from College, kuya Franjo who lives near the city where I stayed knew that I’d be there, he suggested that I might as well make the most of this quick visit. He knew that I like taking pictures so he took me on the night of November 29 to the Iloilo River Esplanade to do a photowalk! Photowalk’s another first time for me!

The Iloilo River Esplanade
The Iloilo River Esplanade is a long, open area along the Iloilo River in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
Franjo picked me up from the hotel where I was staying. When I got in his car, he showed me his DSLR camera and told me to hold it for the night, meaning, I got to use his camera to take pictures as we photowalk! He brought another digi-cam for himself, by the way. All I had to do he said was to enjoy taking pictures! ☺️
This post is actually just a photo strip of the pictures I took as we walk the stretch of the Esplanade. And here it is!
Water Reflection— I love the reflection of the lights in the river at night.
The Lamp Posts— just trying my best attempt to take shots of lamp posts.
Stalking The Night Joggers
The Esplanade River Ride— this, according to Franjo, is a new attraction in the Esplanade. I think for an amount, you may ride the boats to cruise the stretch of the Iloilo River. It was already closed when we got there.
Last, but not the least, Flowers!— they’re one of my favorite subjects!🌼🌻🌸
Finally I got to post this after a year! I wish to go back in Iloilo. I think it’s already become my favorite destination. ☺️
