It’s hard to remember an old friend and associate him to your last memory of him. It’s hard to look at his old pictures and remember what you just recently learned.
It would have been easier if he was just another person that the only thing we knew is each other’s first and last names.
It would have been easier if he was just another classmate. It would have been so much easier if he bullied and made my school life, a hell.
But it’s not.
But he was not.
He wasn’t just another classmate. He wasn’t just another annoying seat-mate. He was a friend – a good, caring, and loving friend.
We have never seen each other since after High School graduation. We did not have any recent moments together but the sadness I feel is much more like anyone who had been able to share with him his last.
He wasn’t just someone.
He was my friend, Allan.
*Allan passed away last year in October due to aneurysm. This was a note I wrote and saved in November 2016 that I had not been able to post, until now.
