koryan food trip a la Erwan on an ASEAN holiday

My friends, Diane and Zye, and I went ala-Erwan Heussaff-korean-food-tripping on the first day of this ASEAN Holiday. (Yay to an extended weekend!)

After we had my mini birthday lunch at a Korean restaurant last month in Pasig, we planned to try other Korean restaurants within Metro Manila. It was last week when Zye suggested Min Sok in Makati. And since it’s a 3-day Holiday today until the 15th, (except for Diane πŸ˜…βœŒπŸΌ), we decided that today, Monday the 13th, would be the day! \o/

Min Sok Authentic Korean Restaurant

I do not know any Korean food or dish, except for Kimchi and Samgyupsal, so I let Zye and Diane choose our orders. As long as there is Samgyupsal, then I’m good. πŸ˜‹

Chadolbaki, Samgyupsal, Doenjang-jjigae (not in pic)

We had grilled beef brisket called Chadolbaki (P400) and grilled pork belly or Samgyupsal (P320) 😍. Bonus: our order came with a free soup from these choices: Doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), Kimchi-jjigae (kimchi stew), and Sundubu-jjigae (spicy tofu stew), all regularly priced at P250. We chose the soybean paste stew.

I have always liked Samgyupsal, and the like, no matter what restaurant it is from. Hehe! I actually thought Samgyupsal is the general name for Korean grilled meats. I did not know that grilled pork belly and grilled beef are called differently. I was always “samgyupsal, samgyupsal”. So, yes, now I know. 😜

I am not a fan of Kimchi. But Min Sok’s Kimchi? Love it! Yum!

By the way, we had the chance to have small talk with the restaurant owner –a very nice old Korean Lady who happened to be there. As she was leaving, she saw and stopped by us to say hello. She’s so nice!

*Min Sok is located at 5655 Don Pedro St., Poblacion, Makati City.

All4U Unlimited Grill and Organic Shabu Shabu

my friends Diane and Zye

Now this wasn’t in our itinerary for today. But Diane! While we were enjoying Min Sok, she went on telling us about how it’s her second time koryan-ing (don’t mind my words, it’s just Korean in gerund form.. lol πŸ˜…) in less than 24 hours! And she was telling us about this promo in All4U where you can eat as many samgyupsals as you want with bottomless iced tea, and wait for it… additional Melona ice cream! Who doesn’t want that?!

So… lunch no. 2 it is! 😜

Good thing All4U is in Century Mall which is just a few blocks away from Min Sok. We just walked our way to Century Mall –which was a good idea because we’d be eating again and this time, it’s unlimited.

Promo details displayed by the entrance

It was good thing that we tried this secondly. If we went here first, I think we might have to re-schedule our Min Sok visit.

They have Shin Ram Yun! Got me excited! Yes, #shinramyunisπŸ’š

shin ram yun! 😱

And now presenting you, all that is included in the P599 Unlimited Promo……πŸ˜‹

For the finale…. mandatory group pic with Melona ice cream! 😝

*All4U is located in Level 4 of Century Mall, in Makati City.

How to get to either of these two? Hmmm.. πŸ€” just Uber or Grab your way there. Hehe! 😜 just like we did. Oh, and please mind the ASEAN lane if you’ll be passing EDSA during the ASEAN holiday. We learned our ‘lesson for today’ today. πŸ˜…

**By the way, I liked the Kimchi from Min Sok more than in All4U, but I liked the soybean paste more from All4U than Min Sok. πŸ™Š
